Job Description
About HENI
HENI is an international art services business working at the intersection of art and technology. From printmaking and physical artwork marketplaces to NFTs, publishing, news, video production, and art research, HENI works with the world's leading artists and estates to make art accessible to audiences worldwide. We are ambitious, fast-moving, and unafraid to challenge how the art world operates.
The Role
This is a rare opportunity for an exceptional operator to run HENI's media business end to end. We are looking for someone who understands that a content organisation only performs when it is properly run — clear structure, clear accountability, and no duplicated effort. You will take operational command of the full media ecosystem: HENI Talks, our podcast output, news, social media, digital media, and publishing. Every team lead across these functions will report into you. Your mandate is to turn a collection of talented but disparate teams into one efficient, well-governed business — with the systems, rhythms, and discipline to match its ambition.
This person will sit at the senior leadership table. They will be as comfortable building an org chart and a budget process as they are chairing a cross-team production meeting.
What You Will Own
You will take full operational ownership of HENI's content and media ecosystem. That means HENI Talks and the broader video production output, the podcast strategy, the news channel, all social and digital media channels, and the publishing arm — books, essays, and any platform where HENI puts information into the world. The heads of each of these teams will report directly to you, and you will be accountable for how the division runs as a whole: org structure, resourcing, budgets, production schedules, and the operating cadence that keeps everyone aligned.
Critically, you will build the operating infrastructure the business currently lacks — clear reporting lines, shared processes across teams that have historically worked in silos, resourcing and hiring decisions, budget ownership, and the performance tracking that lets leadership see, at a glance, how the whole media business is running.
What We Are Looking For
The right person will have run something — a media division, a content organisation, a multi-team creative business — and made it operate cleanly at scale. They will understand how to structure teams, set decision rights, and build the rhythms (weekly ops reviews, resourcing cycles, budget cadences) that keep a fast-moving content business predictable rather than chaotic. They will have strong instincts for where process adds value and where it would only slow creative teams down.
We are looking for someone who has managed multiple functions under one roof before — video, audio, social, editorial, publishing — and knows how to get people who don't naturally coordinate with each other to work as one team, without stifling what makes each of those teams good at what they do.
Specific experience we value highly includes running a media, content, or creative organisation operationally (as a COO, Head of Operations, or General Manager rather than purely a creative or commercial lead), building org structures and reporting lines from scratch, owning budgets and resourcing across multiple teams, implementing production and workflow systems, and managing senior team leads day to day.
Experience in or genuine passion for art, culture, or luxury would be a significant advantage, though intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn matters as much as existing domain knowledge.
The Operational Mandate
To be explicit about what success looks like: every content team lead reports into you and knows exactly what is expected of them; production runs to schedule and budget across HENI Talks, podcast, news, social, and publishing; resourcing and hiring decisions are made against a clear plan rather than ad hoc; duplicated effort and unclear ownership between teams disappear; and leadership can see, through your reporting, precisely how the media business is performing operationally at any given time. Commercial outcomes — audience growth, marketplace traffic, book sales — remain the ultimate measure of success, but they follow from a business that is properly run.
The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here
You are a natural organiser who finds genuine satisfaction in taking a talented but tangled group of teams and making them run smoothly. You see unclear ownership and immediately want to fix it. You are decisive about structure and process, but pragmatic enough to know when a creative team needs room rather than a new system. You are comfortable being the person everyone reports to, and comfortable being firm about deadlines, budgets, and accountability without losing the trust of the teams you lead. You understand that in the art world, credibility is currency, and you know how to run a business that protects it.
Reporting & Seniority
This role reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the senior leadership team. The heads of HENI Talks, podcast, news, social and digital media, and publishing all report into this role.
