Role Description
We are seeking a visionary and highly organized Director to lead the artistic execution of our book-to-screen adaptations. This role is at the cutting edge of modern production, requiring a blend of traditional storytelling mastery and the ability to utilize AI-generation workflows.
As the Director, you are the primary architect of the visual frame. You will be responsible for translating the established creative vision into a concrete set final shots that capture the essence of the source material.
Key Responsibilities
Artistic Leadership & Vision
- Creative Collaboration: Work closely with the Chief Production Officer (CPO), Chief Content Officer, Chief Experience Officer, and Producer to define the overarching artistic direction, mood, and visual style for each book adaptation.
- Shot Generation: Assume ultimate responsibility for the quality, composition, and narrative impact of every shot produced.
Visual Planning & AI Integration
- Workflow Management: Own the generation schedule, ensuring that shot production stays on track, meets deadlines, and aligns with the editorial timeline.
Technical Execution
- Editing Proficiency: Utilize fundamental editing skills to review sequences, understand pacing, and ensure that generated shots transition seamlessly within the episodic structure.
- Quality Control: Oversee the iterative process of AI generation, refining prompts and artistic outputs until the vision is fully realized.
Qualifications & Skills
- Visual Storytelling: A deep understanding of cinematography, framing, lighting, and composition.
- AI Tool Fluency: Experience (or high adaptability) with AI image and video generation platforms and how to use them within a professional creative pipeline.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage a creative team and maintain a unified artistic voice across a large-scale project.
- Organizational Mastery: Strong scheduling and project management skills to handle the high volume of assets inherent in AI-driven production.
- Software Knowledge: Proficiency in storyboarding software and basic competency in NLEs (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
- Post-Production Expertise: Expertise in post-production and CG techniques to utilize at times to improve the outcome quality.
