Job Description
The ideal candidate is able to effectively set direction on larger shoots with multiple people supporting the camera department, but just as comfortable with creating high quality work on their own in a run & gun setting with a nimble camera set up and no additional camera support personnel. They should be confident shooting both in-studio and on-location. They are able to travel extensively as needed for shoots, highly creative, organized with attention to detail, a great communicator, a team player, flexible and able to shift cinematography styles as needed to fit the project.
What You'll Do
- Film interview, documentary, lifestyle and product cinematography in a wide spectrum of settings such as on location car-to-car with natural light, in an operational factory with environmental lighting, in studio with full control to create desired lighting, etc.
- Manage and maintain the team’s video, lighting and sound equipment, including preparing and packing equipment for shoots and unpacking after
- Contribute to location research & scouting
- Work together with producers to develop storyboards and shotlists that best fit the needs of the video concept, and effectively estimate time needed for each set of shots
- Manage picture vehicles & coordinate transportation of vehicles to/from locations
- Support the post-production team via post-shoot briefs and assistance in making selects
- Coordinate projects with third-party production vendors and manage multiple in-house projects in parallel from pre-production to post-production
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years experience as a cinematographer at an agency, video production company, in-house corporate video team, or freelance role
- Professional experience with industry-standard cameras (RED, Sony, DJI, Canon, etc.), to achieve a desired look from a shot list
- Experience with professional lighting setup
- Background in automotive and lifestyle cinematography is preferred
- Able to travel extensively for shoots, including on short notice
- Ability to develop video narratives and shot planning
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Drone cinematography capability preferred
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, especially Premiere Pro and with DaVinci Resolve
