Job Description
Momentum Creative is an AI-native video startup in Los Angeles, bringing creative storytelling and emerging AI tools together to make short-form video for brands and businesses.
We’re looking for an early-career Creative Technologist with strong creative instincts, curiosity, and the drive to learn by making. You might have one to two years of experience in film, editing, design, animation, or creative technology—or personal and student projects that show you’re ready for the opportunity.
As we expand our managed creative production service, you’ll help create 30–90-second video assets with an AI-native production toolstack. This is a hands-on creative role: interpreting briefs, developing visual ideas, experimenting with tools, and shaping images, motion, and sound into stories that work.
You’ll work directly with our CEO, with 18 years of experience marketing film and television through trailers, and our CRO, who brings flagship enterprise sales and go-to-market expertise. You’ll collaborate closely with product and creative as we deliver work for customers and refine how we produce it.
- Turn customer briefs and approved scripts into visual treatments, storyboards, and compelling video sequences.
- Explore AI-native image, video, voice, and audio tools, choosing techniques that serve the idea rather than the other way around.
- Assemble and refine pieces with attention to pacing, continuity, composition, sound, and emotional impact.
- Bring ideas to creative development and respond thoughtfully to direction and feedback.
- Keep assets, versions, sources, and production notes organized for review and handoff.
- Share production insights with product and creative to improve repeatable workflows.
- Approximately one to two years of relevant experience, or compelling student, independent, or self-directed work. No specific degree or previous job title is required.
- A natural feel for storytelling and an eye for what makes an audience pay attention.
- Hands-on experience in at least one creative discipline: film, editing, motion design, animation, graphic design, or sound.
- Curiosity, initiative, and comfort learning unfamiliar digital tools through experimentation.
- A critical eye: you can tell when an AI output looks impressive but does not serve the story.
- Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to take feedback and follow through.
- Availability for an agreed 20–40-hour weekly schedule and in-person collaboration at our Venice Beach office as part of a hybrid arrangement.
You do not need to know every AI tool already. We care more about your creative judgment, initiative, and ability to learn than a long list of platforms on your résumé.
- Experiments with AI-generated images, video, music, or voice.
- Familiarity with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or equivalent editing and motion tools.
- An interest in advertising, cinematic storytelling, and how creative work helps a business communicate.
- Technical curiosity, including node-based workflows, automation, or light scripting. This is not a software engineering role.
- Direct collaboration and feedback from two experienced cofounders.
- Real customer production work and room to help shape the creative process.
- Opportunities to build a portfolio, subject to customer permissions and confidentiality.
- A flexible starting scope, with part-time or full-time arrangements based on availability and role requirements.
- A potential path to greater creative ownership and a long-term position on the founding team, with potential bonus and equity incentives subject to a separate agreement.
For questions or an accommodation request, contact jobs@momentumcreative.ai.
Send a short introduction, two to four work samples, your contribution to each, your location, weekly availability, and earliest start date. A résumé or LinkedIn profile is welcome but optional. Student work and self-directed experiments are welcome.
Show us something you made - and tell us one creative decision behind it. We want to understand how you think, not just which tools you use.
We start with a portfolio conversation. Finalists are invited to a short, paid creative exercise using a fictional customer brief, followed by a collaborative review. We provide source materials and necessary tool access. The exercise pays $150 for up to three hours of preparation and a 30-minute review; we do not expect a finished commercial.
