Job Description
Creative Technologist
Full-time · Individual contributor · Los Angeles/Remote · Reports to the Chief Architect
TrueShort is hiring a Creative Technologist to turn emerging generative AI capabilities into practical tools for great storytelling.
Working alongside AI Filmmakers and engineers, you’ll prototype and develop workflows for voice performance, controllable video generation, spatial continuity, and character consistency. You’ll help integrate successful experiments into TrueStudio, our internal AI filmmaking platform.
Success means delivering reliable capabilities that filmmakers adopt across real productions—improving creative control, quality, and speed.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate emerging image, video, voice, audio, and 3D models for filmmaking.
- Build prototypes, scripts, tools, and repeatable production workflows.
- Explore Blender and Unreal Engine previs as controllable inputs to generative video.
- Improve voice performance, shot control, and visual consistency across sequences.
- Collaborate with engineering to integrate proven workflows into TrueStudio.
- Document techniques, train filmmakers, and refine tools through production feedback.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience experimenting with generative AI and emerging media models.
- Technical fluency with code, scripting, APIs, and rapid prototyping.
- Strong creative taste and an understanding of what makes visuals and performances compelling.
- A systematic approach to testing, troubleshooting, and making results repeatable.
- Initiative, fast learning, and a collaborative approach to working with artists and engineers.
Experience with Blender, Unreal Engine, ComfyUI, generative voice, model customization, or VFX and animation pipelines is valuable. We care more about what you can build and demonstrate than a specific degree or career path.
How to apply
Share a tool, workflow, film, experiment, or technical breakdown that shows how you approach problems, work through limitations, and turn ideas into useful results.
