About the Role
We're seeking an experienced communications leader to serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Communications Officer and help build one of the premier communications organizations in sports.
This individual will lead communications for major U.S. events, corporate initiatives and executive visibility while driving proactive storytelling across business, sports, lifestyle and entertainment media.
Candidates should be willing and able to travel and work evenings, weekends and holidays as required to support live events.
Responsibilities
- Drive communications strategy and planning for major corporate announcements, initiatives and live events.
- Build proactive media campaigns that elevate the company's profile, the leadership team, and our athletes.
- Draft executive messaging, talking points, press releases and original content.
- Support internal communications, including town halls, leadership messaging and employee communications.
- Build and manage relationships with national sports, business, trade media and lifestyle press.
- Expand relationships across podcasts, newsletters and emerging media platforms.
- Identify new storytelling opportunities for the company and its executives.
- Support athlete and executive interviews, press conferences and media tours.
- Support executive thought leadership and conference strategy.
- Lead awards submissions and "Best Of" recognition programs.
- Monitor industry trends and identify proactive communications opportunities across social and traditional media.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Partnerships, Broadcast, Fighter Opps and Social Media teams to ensure consistent messaging.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
- 10+ years of communications experience, preferably in sports, media or entertainment.
- Deep relationships across national sports, business and lifestyle media.
- Exceptional writing and executive communications skills.
- Experience managing high-profile communications campaigns.
- Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
