Rideback RISE


Position Title: Fall 2026 Intern - Rideback RISE

Who We Are

Rideback RISE is a non-profit content and creator accelerator focused on developing

mainstream film and television in order to propel narrative change and cultural impact. Launched by prolific producer Dan Lin in 2022; Lin now serves as the Board Chair.


Our Mission

To empower POC creators and filmmakers to make commercial entertainment that reflects our multicultural society in an effort to propel narrative change. We're creating a system of change designed to reshape majority opinions by ensuring that creators of all backgrounds can tell their stories and see themselves in popular culture. We believe stories and content have the power to unite people and bridge cultures.

Our Funders

RISE launched in July 2022 from leading philanthropic institutions — the Ford Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Zelnick Belzberg, Charitable Trust, Doris Duke Foundation and the UTA Foundation. Since then, RISE

has raised additional funding from the Murphy Family Fund, Comcast NBCUniversal,and TAAF.


Overview of Responsibilities

Our team at RISE is accepting 3-4 interns in each sector: social media, fundraising/ops, and development. Please review the various job descriptions below.


Application Deadline

“[NAME] - [SOCIAL MEDIA, DEVELOPMENT, OR EVENTS] INTERN” by 11:59PM PT on August 3rd, 2026.


Note that although each role has its focus, all interns will be supporting on all three fronts when needed. Interviews will be conducted in August, with internship start dates anticipated for the first week of September, 2026.


SOCIAL MEDIA & DESIGN

Responsibilities

● Liaison between team and social media/marketing strategist.

● Edit reels and photos, help write copy, plan social posts, etc. as needed.

● Assist with design for flier, invite, and programming materials.

● Photograph & film programming events; organize assets, choose selects, edit finals for posting on social, website, & archiving

● Edit program reels, hype reels, and Fellow Behind the Scenes reels for website & social

● Assist lead photographer/videographer with edits & event coverage

● Staying up to date on Fellows and Residents materials/needs of the Program.

● Coverage on materials (books, scripts, etc) as needed.

● Research including landscape analysis and project-specific work as well as assisting in supporting speaker, executive, and creatives database.

● Assisting with event preparation and execution. Events can range from programming such as monthly mock writers rooms and creative/practical sessions to larger events such as our annual Rise for Comedy show as well as quarterly Master Classes and panels.

● Assisting with day-to-day operations (such as office maintenance and upkeep) and administrative tasks such as research, printing/copying, etc. as needed.

Requirements

● Currently enrolled in a degree program in a relevant field such as Film and Television, Film Studies, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Business OR equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the job.

● This is a part-time role. We are looking for individuals with PT availability. The ideal candidate will be able to work in-office 3 days a week, with 2 days/week a minimum requirement.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

● Mission-aligned individuals who have a strong work ethic and possess strong ability to interact with stakeholders, high-level talent, and others.

● Skill and knowledge in Adobe, Keynote, Airtable, and/or Canva a PLUS.

● Drivers’ License & Vehicle a PLUS


DEVELOPMENT

Responsibilities

● Staying up to date on Fellows and Residents materials/needs of the Program.

● Coverage on materials (books, scripts, etc.) as needed.

FUNDRAISING & EVENTS

Responsibilities

● Support our Fundraising & Operations Coordinator with receipt and invoice tracking, CRM management, Google Drive organization, foundation research, digital funding campaigns, donor relations, donation processing and tracking, database management, and fundraising events

● Work directly with our events producer for all planning, prep, execution, wrap and follow up for all events throughout the semester. Events can range from programming such as monthly mock writers rooms and creative/practical sessions to larger events such as our annual Rise for Comedy show, as well as

quarterly Master Classes, panels, and other community- and industry-oriented events (past examples have included an Indie Financing Summit, Women

Directors’ Panel, POC Assistant/Coordinator Mixer, etc).

● Data organization and comms for all event RSVPs – extending invite, tracking RSVPs, checking credentials, and assisting with outreach. Manning and overseeing check-in during events.

● Collaborating closely with the social media team to handle all flyers, design, and visuals for events. Drafting event reports for sponsors, donors, and industry partners/attendees.

● Assisting with day-to-day operations (such as office maintenance and upkeep), organizing and ensuring the cleanliness of the event space, office space and administrative tasks such as research, printing/copying, prepping gift bags,

organizing closets and inventory, etc. as needed.
