ABOUT MLTT

Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) is building the first modern, team-based professional table tennis league in the United States. Broadcasting nationally on CBS Sports Network with a growing global digital audience, MLTT is reintroducing one of the world's most popular sports to a new generation of American fans through culture, storytelling, and live event experiences.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Head of Content to own MLTT's content strategy, narrative, and audience growth across all digital platforms.

This is not a content management role. It is a growth and brand-building role.

The right person will define what MLTT stands for in culture, shape how our athletes and stories are told, and directly impact business outcomes: ticket sales, TableTennis.TV subscriptions, and SPINDEX participation.

This role requires a deep understanding of how to win attention in a crowded media landscape and convert that attention into lasting fandom and measurable business outcomes.

This person is a builder. They create direction, not just follow it. They operate at both a strategic and executional level, while scaling output through a team and partners. They thrive with limited resources and build creatively rather than waiting for infrastructure to be handed to them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Strategy & Narrative

  • Define weekly and seasonal content narratives across MLTT, TableTennis.TV, and SPINDEX
  • Establish clear content pillars and ensure consistency across platforms
  • Identify and elevate the storylines that drive fandom: players, rivalries, identity, and moments
  • Translate strategy into clear, executable direction for the team

Short-Form & Social Growth

  • Own strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms
  • Develop repeatable formats that compound over time
  • Balance highlights, storytelling, and cultural content intentionally
  • Understand and leverage platform algorithms and the attention economy to maximize reach
  • Ensure content converts attention into meaningful audience growth and fan behavior

Video & Production Leadership

  • Guide short-form video output across highlights, player content, and behind-the-scenes
  • Raise the quality bar across all content formats
  • Partner with internal and external production teams to scale output efficiently
  • Ensure content is optimized for platform behavior and audience consumption

Team Leadership & Execution

  • Manage a Social & Community Manager and external partners
  • Delegate effectively and scale output through team and agency resources
  • Balance hands-on involvement with leadership and oversight
  • Ensure clear ownership, timelines, and accountability across all workstreams

Growth & Performance Accountability

  • Own audience growth and content performance across all platforms
  • Establish and maintain clear KPIs tied to ticket sales, TableTennis.TV subscriptions, and SPINDEX participation
  • Drive measurable improvement in follower growth, engagement rates, and conversion from content to action
  • Drive top-of-funnel audience expansion while improving conversion from attention to action

Operating Discipline & Reporting

  • Establish and maintain a weekly content performance report
  • Translate performance data into clear insights, decisions, and adjustments
  • Define and track performance across the full funnel: awareness to engagement to conversion
  • Provide concise, outcome-driven updates to leadership

FIRST 90 DAYS

  • Conduct a full audit of content performance, formats, and audience behavior
  • Define core content pillars and repeatable formats
  • Establish weekly reporting and KPI tracking
  • Deliver a clear content roadmap tied to ticket sales, TTTV, and SPINDEX growth
  • Identify immediate opportunities to improve engagement, reach, and conversion

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 5 to 8+ years in content, social, or digital media
  • Proven track record of growing a content or social brand with measurable results
  • Can clearly articulate how their work drove audience growth, engagement, and conversion or revenue impact
  • Strong storytelling instincts and deep understanding of audience behavior
  • Experience leading teams or cross-functional contributors
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, lean, live event environments with limited resources
  • Deep fluency in Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and platform dynamics

Bonus Experience

  • Sports media, league, or team environment
  • On-site live event content production
  • Working with athletes, creators, or influencers
  • Experience building scalable content systems

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

Flexible/hybrid with required travel to MLTT events throughout the season (approximately 8 to 10 weekends per year).
