About:
Jamie’s List is a media company and membership community founded by producer Jamie Patricof, who also runs Hunting Lane production company. It has four primary facets: the eponymous newsletter, an online conversation series/podcast (Lunch With Jamie), live events, and physical products.
Internship Description:
This internship will focus on both businesses for film and TV producer Jamie Patricof. Jamie’s List/Hunting Lane Films are small teams, so this internship is perfect for someone who is looking for hands-on experience in a true startup environment. We are also looking for someone with a desire to also learn about the film and television production side of things at Hunting Lane. Each day will be different, with various tasks such as:
- Researching the guests and coming up with questions for Lunch With Jamie conversation series and podcast.
- Providing script or book coverage for Hunting Lane Films.
- Pitching guests, newsletter topics, and initiatives to continue company growth.
- Helping organize our database of members and subscribers.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as organizing member information, managing subscribers, and coordinating with vendors when appropriate.
- Working with the team on social media strategy and online presence.
- Assisting with live events in LA (when applicable).
- Attending team meetings (including development meetings for Jamie’s production company Hunting Lane) and meetings with various strategists and contractors.
- Running errands occasionally (post office, bank, etc) but gas expenses will be reimbursed.
This role is unpaid (but we offer college credit) and hours can vary from 15-30 hours per week. We are a hybrid office, primarily in person at our Melrose Hill office, with WFH days on Fridays.
The ideal candidate will be a creative, self-starter with a passion for media, writing, food, culture, and film/television. Some requirements for this role:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, and able to receive academic credit.
- An interest in and/or keen awareness of politics and current events.
- Adept at communication, both verbal and written.
- Pays close attention to detail.
- Must be either a college or graduate student and able to accept college credit.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google, Slack, Canva, and Youtube.
- Someone interested in film, television, and new media.
- Reliable transportation to come into the office (a car is ideal, but we can be flexible).
Preferred qualities include:
- Basic knowledge of Airtable and/or video editing software.
- Experience with script coverage for the production company
- Experience with blogging, newsletters, or digital writing.
- Willingness to learn and utilize AI tools when appropriate.
