The Pittsburgh Penguins have an immediate opening for a talented, motivated Motion Graphics Designer/Producer to join our Game Presentation team! Do you love hockey? Do you love the Penguins? Do you love the idea of your work being seen and appreciated by thousands of fans every game? Then this might just be the job for you!
In this exciting role, you’ll join a small, tightknit, and passionate Game Ops team charged w/ maximizing the Penguins Fan Experience and other Game Ops goals at every Penguins event. Frankly, we need you to help us blow some minds! You’ll focus your creative vision and hands-on design skills to create incredible still graphics and motion-based animations that drive our brand, energize our fans, and support our many game-related business initiatives. Perhaps most exciting is that you’ll be challenged to maximize the capabilities of our multi-format in-bowl LED screens, highlighted by our 50’x33’ 36 million pixel 360-degree seamless Center-Hung Scoreboard – the largest single surface display in the NHL. And you’ll be ready to put in the time needed to make the magic happen!
Success in this role is more than just completion of assigned projects. Rather, success extends to re-imagining, and unleashing, our LED display system capabilities, and doing so w/ collaborative engagement, proactive readiness for every game & event, creative development of forward-thinking concepts, and applying business-related analytics to guide our efforts.

Preferred Experience And Qualifications
- Proficiency with Mac-based Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, and/or other applicable programs.
- Experience and success creating 3D models, virtual environments, and forced perspective content.
- Hands-on success creating engaging seamless content on 360-degree large-format display systems.
- Experience producing synchronized projects across multiple sources (ie LED content, music, FX Lights, etc).
- Strong understanding of brand guidelines, broadcast standards, and compliance expectations.
- General familiarity w/ professional control room equipment, particularly Ross Expression and Kiva systems
- 3-5+ year’s relevant experience working for a sports team, venue, agency, production house, or relevant other.
- Post-secondary education and training in a digital media productions-related field.
- You’re an enthusiastic self-starter and collaborator. You thrive on trends, fan tendencies, and pop culture.
- You have a never-ending desire to blaze a trail, raise the bar, and generally kick-ass w/ new ideas and fresh approaches.
- You hate design complacency and you’re driven to put in the time needed to make your vision a reality.
- You’re up for occasional travel to other venues and industry conferences.
