Job Description
Audible Treats is a boutique public relations firm based in Brooklyn. Our clients consist mainly of rappers and rap-adjacent companies. We work with some of the biggest and interesting artists in the business, including Sexyy Red, Chief Keef, Lupe Fiasco, Trippie Redd, and more, music festivals including TouchGrass Music Fest, and more, along with corporate clients. For a list of current and recent clients, visit http://www.audibletreats.com/clients/
This will be an unpaid internship (can count toward course credit if you are in school). We'd like someone who can work 3-5 days a week, with availability to work in-person in our Brooklyn office on Tuesday and Wednesday and remotely at least one additional day per week. There is also the option to be fully remote if you are not NYC-based.
This is what this internship WILL NOT consist of: Filing, photocopying, phones, getting us coffee.
We've been through the whole internship thing before and know what it is like to work for someone who doesn't understand or appreciate your contribution to the team. With Audible Treats you will have a chance to put your skills to use in a meaningful way, gaining practical knowledge of the music industry as well as making great contacts for your future.
This is what you WILL get to do:
Be an integral part of our publicity campaigns from start to finish
Conduct intensive research for specific campaigns
Write press releases and pitch letters
Generate client reports
Learn advanced skills in WordPress, MailChimp, and Google Suite
This is what we're looking for:
Deep knowledge and love of hip-hop history and culture. Over 90% of our clients are hip-hop- you must eat, live, and breathe the culture.
An interest in Music Marketing and/or Publicity
A creative and critical thinker
Excellent writing skills
This is an in-person opportunity–interns will be required to come into the office two days a week, and to work remotely for at least one additional day per week. Candidates should be willing to commit to a 3-4 month-long internship.
To Apply:
Applicants should supply a resume and two-to-three recent writing samples (if available).
