Content Editor (Part-Time)

Position Summary

The Dallas Cowboys are seeking a creative, part-time football-savvy Content Editor to help develop engaging video content across the organization’s digital and social media platforms.

This role is responsible for editing, optimizing, and publishing short-form and long-form digital content, including social media videos, interviews, podcasts, player features, original programming, and real-time content experiences. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller with a passion for football, social media, and digital content creation who understands how to create engaging videos that connect with Cowboys fans.

The position requires a strong foundation in video editing, social media storytelling, and football knowledge. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus, with opportunities to support both English and Spanish-language content initiatives. The role reports to the Sr. Manager, Hispanic Content.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and create engaging video content for Cowboys digital and social media platforms.
  • Create short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, and emerging platforms.
  • Transform interviews, podcasts, press conferences, player features, and original programming into compelling social-first content.
  • Identify key moments, storylines, and trends that can be transformed into engaging digital content.
  • Develop creative edits that align with the Dallas Cowboys brand voice and storytelling style.
  • Edit video content using Adobe Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
  • Create captions, graphics, transitions, and basic motion graphics to enhance storytelling.
  • Apply platform-specific storytelling techniques to increase engagement, retention, and audience growth.
  • Stay current on social media trends, editing styles, audience behaviors, and emerging content formats.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of football, NFL terminology, player storylines, and team narratives.
  • Identify content opportunities around games, players, team moments, and fan experiences.
  • Assist with organizing and managing digital media assets and post-production workflows.
  • Collaborate with content, social media, marketing, and creative teams to execute digital initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, talent, and partners.
  • Support English and Spanish-language content initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Video Production, Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience in digital content creation, video editing, social media, or related field.
  • Internships, collegiate athletics experience, student media, and personal content portfolios will be considered.
  • Portfolio required showcasing video editing and social media storytelling skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X.
  • Basic understanding of video production, editing techniques, and digital storytelling.
  • Strong knowledge of football, NFL culture, and football storytelling.
  • Experience editing podcasts, interviews, or original video content preferred.
  • Basic motion graphics and animation experience preferred.
  • Ability to identify engaging moments from longer-form content and create compelling social edits.
  • Strong creative judgment, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience creating content for sports, entertainment, media, or personal brands preferred.
  • Experience covering live sporting events preferred.
  • Understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (including some nights, weekends, and holidays) and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time (8 hours or more)
