Show Director – Seasonal
TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Liaison between producers and production; interpret the Producer’s vision and work in conjunction with the technical crew to execute that vision overseeing all aspects of the technical operations of the broadcast. Typically assigned to scripted/structured programs. Based in Miami.
YOUR DAY TO DAY:
- Direct the production.
- Plan production with show producers.
- Manage technical crew: direct the crew; conduct performance reviews and provide on-going performance feedback.
- Communicate all technical and staging requirements to the production crew.
- Make on the spot decisions as dictated by changes to the rundown.
- Provide instruction to on-air talent prior to broadcast and direct them during broadcast.
- Provide creative input, e.g., assist the Producer in creating the look of a show, including set design; suggest alternate shots; etc.
- Oversee and facilitate production elements, including graphics, music, and all other related elements.
YOU HAVE:
- 5 - 7 years of experience in production/directing programs.
- Knowledge or productions switchers; experience as a Technical Director a plus.
- Knowledge of equipment utilized in production, TV studio and control room.
- Comfortable with all aspects of studio and remote productions.
- Able to make quick decisions and give accurate and clear instructions.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Comfort using highly technical and automated systems.
- Perform well under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, interpersonal and team building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize operational activities and effectively resolve production issues.
- Highly motivated, highly effective self-starter with strong track record of successful project execution.
- Experience in interacting and communicating to all levels of management.
- Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
