Job Description
The Independent Film & Television Alliance, the trade association for independent motion picture distribution and production companies and producer of the American Film Market (AFM®), is seeking a Marketing & Sales Assistant.
The position will report to the Vice President, Marketing & Membership.

The ideal candidate is assertive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable researching prospects, developing pitch materials, communicating with clients, and helping convert opportunities into successful partnerships. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys both the outward-facing energy of sales and the behind-the-scenes coordination required to deliver a polished client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and build targeted prospect lists of companies for AFM sponsorship, advertising, exhibition, and partnership opportunities, including entertainment brands, production service companies, technology companies, studios, film commissions, and media partners.
- Support outbound sales outreach for AFM sponsorships, advertising, and promotional opportunities.
- Prepare high-quality pitch materials, sales decks, proposals, one-sheets, and client-facing presentations.
- Track sponsorship and advertising orders, contracts, deliverables, invoices, and payment status.
- Coordinate with sponsors, partners, advertisers, and trade media to collect artwork, logos, videos, digital assets, and other required materials.
- Oversee the delivery of sponsor and advertiser benefits, including digital advertising, onsite branding, directory ads, event visibility, and promotional assets.
- Help manage fulfillment timelines to ensure all sponsor and partner commitments are delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Communicate professionally with senior executives, clients, vendors, internal teams, and industry partners.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is energetic, commercially minded, and eager to grow within the entertainment business. The right candidate will be comfortable taking initiative, following up with prospects, staying organized across multiple deadlines, and representing AFM professionally to outside companies.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales, marketing, sponsorship, advertising, events, or entertainment industry experience preferred.
- Strong research skills and ability to identify relevant companies and decision-makers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable with outbound outreach, follow-up, and client communication.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Canva and Google Docs
- Experience preparing sales decks, pitch materials, proposals, or marketing collateral is a plus.
- Interest in film, television, entertainment, media, technology, live events, or global content markets strongly preferred.
- Professional, proactive, assertive, and service-oriented.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
