Sports, Digital Media & Entertainment Partner

Job Description

Partner Opportunity | Sports, Digital Media & Entertainment

We are working with a leading international law firm that is continuing to grow its established Sports, Digital Media & Entertainment platform.

The firm has a substantial, multidisciplinary sports practice comprising approximately 100 lawyers across a range of practice areas. While many firms are now investing in the sports sector, this is an established practice with significant depth and a track record of advising clients across the sports ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have a meaningful sports-focused practice, with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• M&A and private equity

• Media rights and distribution

• Gaming and regulatory matters

• Emerging companies and venture capital

• Technology transactions

• Digital media and entertainment

• IP and copyright litigation

Candidates do not need to sit within a dedicated Sports practice or have a practice formally labeled as “sports law.” The firm is also interested in partners whose broader Corporate, M&A, PE, media, technology, IP or litigation practices include meaningful experience, clients and relationships within the sports industry, including representing leagues, teams, athletes, governing bodies, investors and other participants across the sports ecosystem.

The firm is looking for established partners who:

• Have a meaningful and portable book of business

• Originate and maintain strong client relationships

• Remain actively engaged in client work, with their own billable practice and collections

• Are collaborative and entrepreneurial

• Are excited by the opportunities that come with a strong international and cross-practice platform

Why this opportunity stands out

For a partner looking to expand an existing practice, the platform offers significant cross-practice depth across corporate, technology, IP, litigation, media and emerging companies, along with an established sports infrastructure and broader international reach.

Incoming partners have the opportunity to leverage complementary practices, collaborate with lawyers across disciplines, expand relationships with existing clients and pursue work that may be difficult to capture on a more limited platform.

The firm also offers flexibility across a number of major U.S. markets, including New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Austin, Denver, Seattle, the Bay Area and San Diego.

If you have built a strong practice in or around the sports industry and are interested in exploring a platform that could support the next stage of its growth, I would be happy to have a confidential conversation.
