In A Nutshell:


Our Media Manager | Video Activation will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing video campaigns across the agency's fast growing linear TV & non-linear streaming convergent video media practice.. The agency allows our managers to, at once, touch TV, CTV and ad tech for both planning and buying functions - without siloes and red tape - while partnering with industry best-in-class social, digital and analytics core teams.


This role requires a strategic and analytical mindset, curiosity, strong negotiating skills, and a deep understanding of modern video media buying, planning and cross-screen outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for traditional TV and the emerging fusion of both streaming and the ad tech that supports it. A diverse track record of some or all of Upfront, Scatter, DRTV, Local and some 'always on' biddable campaigns is helpful.


What You'd Do:


  • Represent the agency and its clients by planning, negotiating and managing TV and CTV investments in the modern video marketplace with all leading media partners
  • Oversee Media Analysts providing leadership, mentorship, vision and technical expertise on linear and emerging TV trends (i.e., CTV, Programmatic, Addressable), or what VaynerMedia calls 'modern video for modern living rooms'
  • Serve as a key member of the internal Video COE, which offers agency-wide counsel to teams and clients. Learn and help articulate our unique TV 3.0 model
  • Monitor campaigns for performance along with Media Analysts and Senior Media Analysts. Ensure buys are pacing accordingly while managing ownership spend, troubleshooting campaigns, creating insights about performance, making updates accordingly and flagging potential issues to clients and or agency management.
  • Create and present sophisticated media investment strategies to agency teams and clients, derived from internal data, industry insights and direct marketplace skills.
  • Develop and deliver client-facing campaign reports to showcase performance and new innovation opportunities. Help curate post-buys, campaign build outs (e,g. Mediacoean, Prisma), ad-hoc video analysis, and high-touch optimizations (e.g using Videoamp or NielsenOne) to ensure relevant metrics and insights are highlighted.
  • Manage up to senior agency leadership corresponding to crucial aspects of a client's business, keeping them abreast of developments and urgent client needs.
  • Help advise on and or manage select ad tech vendors or 3P partners with internal teams as necessary and feasible when needed to execute specific campaign work.
  • Collaborate and ideate across disciplines to craft best-in-class, holistic omnichannel strategies rooted in driving business outcomes for blue-chip brands.

  • 3-4 years experience media agency experience as an Media Buyer on major brands with leading publishers
  • Experience leading and managing a small team or an individual
  • Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets including pivot tables, V-Look Ups, and macros
  • Experience across buying or biddable platforms in any of the following:
  • Network/Cable/Streaming Media: Disney, Paramount, NBCU, and Fox
  • AVOD/FAST: Netflix; Amazon Prime Video; Vevo; Tubi; Pluto; FreeVee
  • MVPDs/vMVPDs: Comcast; Charter; YouTubeTV; Sling; Fubo; Ampersand
  • SSPs/DSPs: DV360; Trade Desk; Amazon Ads; Magnite; Xandr; Freewheel
  • SmartTV/TV-OS: Roku; Telly; LG; Samsung; Vizio; FireTV
  • Programmatic CTV 3P Firms: Innovid; Brightline; IRI; Captify; Alliant; KERV
  • Alt Video Platforms: Vistar; Screenvision; NCM; T-Ads; Atmosphere; GSTV
  • Stewardship: Mediaocean; Mediatools; Prisma; Mediatools

Any Additional Experience in the following a plus:


  • Local TV/Cable, DRTV, Addressable TV, Data-Driven Linear, Syndication
  • Unwired/Convergent TV platforms (eg Tatari, Simulmedia, Cadent, ITN)
  • YouTube

  • Experience working with analytics, attribution and measurement systems. Including, but not limited to:
