Job Summary:
About the Role
The Specialist, Communications for Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing (CPGP) team will support communications for Disney Publishing Worldwide and Digital Experiences. In addition to working with their manager to integrate key book titles and digital products into cross-franchise (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars) PR campaigns and across owned and operated platforms, this role will act as one of the team’s key points of contact for publishing licensees.
Responsibilities:
- Draft press releases, media alerts, and key messages for external PR activities such as events and product launches
- Draft various owned & operated editorial features, such as blog posts
- Help route press and media plans to various stakeholders cross-franchise to maintain consistent brand messaging
- Manage ongoing communications with licensee teams and review/route all licensee PR materials for approval
- Liaise closely with Disney Publishing publicity team on franchise-driven book campaigns
- Lead tracking and reporting for PR activities, gathering key beats and media coverage to maintain a communications calendar and contributing to weekly and monthly briefs and department trackers
- Develop strong relationships with content partners in marketing and editorial in order to ensure the appropriate flow of information between different channels in the business
- Actively participate in editorial, marketing, sales, and production meetings to generate ideas or angles, and present campaign activities and updates
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years PR/communications experience
- Strong communications and writing skills
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects across a variety of franchises/brands at a time
- Excellent computer literacy; Internet and social media savvy with experience using Keynote, Microsoft Office suite, etc.
- A self-starter that has experience problem solving with creative solutions
- A team player with the ability to embrace a fast-moving, action-oriented environment
- Able to develop strong, trusting relationships with team members and other internal stakeholders
- Approaches work with a high degree of professionalism and commitment
- Exhibits strong communication skills and an ability to work with others who may have diverse communication and work styles
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience

The hiring range for this position in New York is $78,800.00 to $108,350.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
