Position Summary
Samsung Electronics America is recruiting for a Samsung TV Plus Manager of FAST Channel Operations based in Los Angeles, California. Samsung TV Plus is Samsung’s free ad-supported Smart TV video service that delivers instant access to news, sports, entertainment, music, and lifestyle content without downloading an app, purchasing an additional device, or paying for another subscription. Samsung TV Plus launched in the US on April 2018 and is currently available on 2016-23 models of Samsung Smart TVs and recent Galaxy mobile devices.
As the FAST Channel Operations Manager, you will ensure Samsung TV Plus provides a premium viewing experience for its users. The role oversees a team of channel specialists focused on North America, from initial partner preparation to asset ingestion and end-user playback.
Samsung TV Plus is in the midst of an exciting period of growth and development, and seeks a candidate with a keen understanding of the FAST ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be a strong critical thinker with high attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture. We are looking for an experienced people manager who can collaborate and communicate effectively with the broader team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Organize, lead, and provide direction to the North America Channel Ops team.
- Manage monthly launch cycles, ensuring production readiness according to agreed-upon timeframes. Oversee verification of closed captioning, ad viewing experience, and program metadata quality. Escalation point for content partners and vendors on issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain content release schedules, including delivery dates for upstream assets. Ensure the Channel Ops teams communicate status updates and maintain expectations with all major external and internal stakeholders.
- Drive continual process refinements, streamline launch timeframes, minimize QC defects, and maintain service quality.
- Work closely with internal Business Development, Partner Management, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
- Stay up-to-date on market trends and industry shifts to stay relevant among internal and external partners.
- Work side by side with international teams for alignment across content workflows, maintaining expectations across global business development and operations groups.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent related work experience required.
- 7+ years of content operations experience, 2 of which include consumer-facing OTT video platforms.
- Solid knowledge of best practices and trends in OTT/FAST video streaming, including closed captions, video encoding, ad serving, and content delivery.
- Experience working with engineering groups to help diagnose and resolve video-related issues Proven track record managing individuals and third parties to achieve time-sensitive production goals.
- Proven ability to create organized, efficient processes from chaos and complexity.
- Domestic and International travel may be required.

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in California, is expected to be between $100,000 and $140,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
