Job Overview

The Production Manager is a critical leadership role charged with overseeing multifaceted production operations while ensuring that every aspect of the process—from filming to post-production—meets our high-quality standards. In addition to guiding overall operations and logistics, the ideal candidate will have proven, hands-on experience with cutting-edge filming equipment and techniques that are essential for a state-of-the-art broadcast environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Develop and execute production strategies across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency and adherence to tight deadlines.
    • Oversee production budgets, schedules, and workflows, making informed decisions based on hands-on technical expertise.
  • Equipment Oversight and Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrate in-depth experience with high-end filming equipment including:
      • Cameras & Lens Systems: Proficiency with ARRI ALEXA Mini LF setups, RED KOMODO 6K Cinema Camera, and associated lens systems.
      • Lighting Equipment: Experience using ARRI Sky Panel S60-C LED soft light panels and Kino Flo Vision 4 LED fixtures.
      • Sound Systems: Hands-on familiarity with Sennheiser MKH 8060 shotgun microphones, wireless microphone systems, and tools like the Sound Devices 688 for field recordings.
      • Editing & Post-Production: Command over high-end editing workstations (e.g., Apple Mac Pro or equivalent), 8K calibrated monitors, and high-speed storage and networking systems.
    • Production Accessories: Competence in managing additional gear such as camera rigs, stabilizers, and specialized production accessories.
    • Ensure all equipment is maintained, updated, and used effectively on-set and during broadcast operations.
  • Team Management and Process Optimization:
    • Recruit and manage a skilled team of production operators, equipment technicians, and post-production specialists.
    • Implement continuous improvement practices, leveraging technical insights to streamline workflows and maximize production quality.
  • Project and Vendor Coordination:
    • Collaborate across departments—Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain—to ensure that technical requirements align with overall production goals.
    • Manage vendor relationships to secure the latest equipment, maintenance services, and technology upgrades.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Travel as needed to production sites, vendor locations, and client meetings to provide on-site support, review equipment setups, and ensure production quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in production or operations management, with hands-on technical expertise in high-end filming and broadcast equipment.
  • Technical Skills & Competencies:
    • Proven experience operating and managing advanced filming systems including ARRI ALEXA Mini LF, RED KOMODO cameras, ARRI Sky Panel LED lighting, Kino Flo lighting setups, professional-grade sound systems (e.g., Sennheiser and Sound Devices setups), and cutting-edge post-production workstations.
    • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., lean manufacturing, Six Sigma) and a track record of implementing innovative technical solutions.
    • Deep troubleshooting ability for on-set technical issues, ensuring minimal production downtime and optimal use of high-value equipment.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with experience managing diverse technical teams.
    • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable production strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in high-volume or complex broadcast production environments.
  • Familiarity with emerging filming technologies and industry innovations.
  • A demonstrable track record of achieving production efficiency improvements and cost reductions.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $80,000 – $130,000 per year
