Job Description
The Athlete Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of athlete-related partnerships initiatives, with an initial focus on basketball. Collaborating with management and key partners across the organization, this position assists in implementing marketing initiatives which leverage our athletes to promote and build awareness for the Skechers brand. This position plays a key role in building and developing Skechers’ partnerships with athletes, including supporting the identification of potential partners, the management of on-going partnerships with athletes, managers, and agencies, contract negotiation, and activations and events with our partners.

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing athlete-focused marketing campaigns, events, and brand activations as directed by the Sports Marketing, Sports Performance Product, and Strategic Partnerships teams
- Monitor sports culture, trends, and fan engagement opportunities to identify potential marketing ideas
- Support the management of relationships with athletes, their representatives, and internal stakeholders
- Gather insights from athletes and their representatives on their performance product needs and off-court style preferences to inform product development and marketing initiatives
- Support the VP of Performance Product Development by coordinating athlete wear-testing and feedback sessions for new technical basketball styles, production samples, and player edition products
- Work with Strategic Partnerships team on athlete agreements and contracts
- Prepare contract summaries and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure details are shared effectively across the company
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to athlete contracts, product seeding, feedback, and activations
- Manage administrative tasks, such as contract tracking, scheduling, and reporting related to athlete activities
- Assist in coordinating athlete involvement in charitable events, fundraising campaigns, or other philanthropic activities aligned with their personal causes
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for Skechers' sponsored athletes and their representatives, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled through tasks such as:
- Coordinating product seeding and distribution to athletes
- Assisting in the execution of athlete marketing plans and activations
- Assisting in athletes' social media content calendars and posts by working closely with the external agencies and internal stakeholders
- Providing administrative support for contract negotiations and renewals
- Arranging travel logistics for athlete appearances and events
- Processing invoices and payments related to athlete sponsorships
- Maintaining clear communication and strong relationships with athletes and agents
- Support the planning of a social media calendar for professional athletes surrounding key product launches and events
- Ensure athletes are unveiling upcoming launches on social media
- Work with Creative to ensure assets are created specific to the launches – social/digital/etc.
- Liaison between the Sales/Marketing/Product Teams communicating any delays or revisions to planned launch dates and/or launch colors
- Collaborate internally regarding updates on all key Sports Marketing documents/assets, including:
- Athlete game schedule
- Athlete/Ambassador footwear shipment tracking
- Athlete appearance schedules
- Prepare and present research reports on specific product categories and athletes
- Collaborate closely and effectively with other internal departments, such as Product, Retail, Visual Merchandising, Graphics, Advertising, and PR
- Treat all management and fellow team-members with respect to support a healthy and positive team environment

- General availability to support the department outside of regular working hours when necessary
- Provide on-site support at relevant events and activations as needed
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing, Marketing, Communications, or related discipline preferred
- Experience in sports marketing and/or athlete management within the basketball space preferred
- 3-5 years of talent management, sports marketing and/or partnerships experience; specific experience with athletes, teams, influencers, agencies and/or media
- Genuine and demonstrated interest in basketball, sports, and fitness
The pay range for this position is $70,000-$85,000
