The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most creative department in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Within GABM sits the Global Brand Content & Media team who is responsible for building inspiring brand creative and assets to drive consideration for target audiences, effective placement through strategic media planning and buying and leveraging cultural marketing and brand platforms to support enterprise priorities.

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic team that works across American Express. This role is part of the Global Brand Content and will be responsible for establishing operational controls and a strategic vision for talent relationships, activations, and strategies at all levels across the company including A-list celebrities, rising talent and digital influencers.

The role will be focused on creating frameworks to mitigate brand and reputational risk while driving innovation in the ways we engage with celebrity and influencer talent to drive results. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to establish and operationalize a “Center of Excellence” (COE) focused on developing consistent processes, guidelines and best practices for all celebrity and influencer talent engagements.
  • Designing systems, tools and communications to track, coordinate and ensure consistency across talent engagements to drive efficiency and mitigate risk
  • Leading relationships across internal stakeholders to understand and support their needs
  • Providing subject matter and industry expertise for the enterprise
  • Managing relationships with external talent management partners and agencies
  • Communicating clear expectations around guidelines and processes that can evolve for agility and ease where appropriate
  • Providing strategic or consultative support on ad hoc needs and opportunities
  • Manage Celebrity & Influencer Talent Programming team budget

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent project management, organizational and process/workflow skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues across the company at all levels
  • Strong strategic/thought leadership skills with ability to think “end-to-end”
  • Familiarity with the talent management industry/landscape
  • Track record of operating with cross-functional teams, internal and external partners
  • Highly proficient with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Team player, comfortable working in “white space”

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years in Marketing, Strategy or Partner Management
  • Experience in external partnership/relationship management & contract negotiation
  • Experience creating structure in a large/matrixed environment

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
