The Ethical Media Production Alliance (EMPA) aims to provide impact-focused brands and non-profit organizations with access to subsidized content production for web, TV, and social. These initiatives provide strategy, talent, and resources to drive visibility towards environmental, humanitarian, and social causes. Simultaneously, our efforts support mentorship and paid work opportunities for the creative labor force by establishing relationships with brands and commercial filmmakers who are committed to the ethical use of AI in multimedia production and advertising.

As part of our mission, EMPA is hosting a filmmaking workshop for emerging creatives and students, and we are seeking inspiring speakers to share their experiences, insights, and career journeys with engaging anecdotes and advice for work in all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production.

Role of the Speaker

We are seeking one or more guest speakers who will:

Deliver a talk or workshop session (30–60 minutes) on filmmaking, storytelling, or creative careers.
Share personal insights, professional experiences, and practical advice with attendees.
Engage with participants through Q&A, interactive exercises, or discussion.
Inspire young creatives to pursue careers in ethical and impact-driven media production.

Speaker Responsibilities

Prepare a presentation or workshop outline tailored to emerging filmmakers.
Attend and present at the scheduled workshop date(s).
Participate in group discussions, mentorship moments, or feedback sessions.
Align content with EMPA’s values of ethical storytelling and creative empowerment.

Qualifications

We welcome speakers from diverse creative and professional backgrounds who are passionate about mentorship. Skills and experiences that are especially valuable include:

Experience in film, television, commercial production, or journalism.
Expertise in storytelling, cinematography, directing, producing, or related fields.
Willingness to share practical industry knowledge and personal career insights.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in media.

Time Commitment & Compensation

Approximately 4–5 hours, including preparation, travel, and the workshop presentation. Compensation is provided as a fixed project fee for each workshop completed with EMPA. Rate to be discussed.
