The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Producer, Integrated Productions, the Senior Associate Lighting Designer (SALD) implements and enhances the lighting and power distribution for assigned remote and non-remote productions. You will assist in the planning, rental (if needed), design process and building of an appropriate lighting and power set up to facilitate the shooting of talent, product and locations.

Your Impact
- You will attend location scouts if needed to determine the lighting and power needs for a successful production, and design lighting and power needs for the broadcast. You will draft plots and create a power and lighting plan.
- When on location, you will act as lead for the Lighting Team- overseeing the onsite lighting team to provide a safe and coordinated parking of lighting/power vehicles, load in and set up of equipment, set up and focus of lighting instruments, and the running of feeder and power cables in a safe manner. You must be aware of pathways, public areas, camera angles, set areas, talent locations, etc.
- During the broadcast, you will observe the camera shots and seek to enhance or adjust the lighting.
- Upon completion of a broadcast, you will work with lighting crew to break down and load out all lighting and power equipment and vehicles according to a predetermined plan. Must be able to oversee and assist with multiple people and work streams to safely and effectively remove and pack rental and QVC lighting equipment, and maintain an inventory to ensure the return of all lighting and power gear.
What You Bring
- 3-5+ years of recent lighting design experience is required coupled with a working knowledge of technical elements.
- Degree in Television / Film / Theatre Lighting and/or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
- Experience with cameras and camera concepts and CAD drawing experience preferred, Vectorworks is a plus.
- Experience with on-location and remote production is required.
- Ability to travel - The frequency of travel can vary depending on the production workload and project demands, but typically involve around 30% of working hours away from home or the standard work environment.
Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time.
