Job Description

NBC Sports Chicago is seeking a Part-Time Graphic Associate Producer. The Graphics Associate Producer is responsible for creating compelling, engaging graphics content for NBC Sports Chicago live events, particularly for Chicago White Sox shows but also for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks shows as needed. The position will be based at our on-site production trucks (at the stadium/venue) for home games; when our teams are on the road, the worksite will be at Chicago’s NBC Tower. The Graphics Associate Producer will work alongside our Duet/Chyron operator for each show and must possess strong communication skills with the scorebug operator, producer and director of each show.

Additionally, the Graphics AP will serve as a liaison between our promotions/sales departments and the live events team, helping coordinate appropriate elements for on-air displays.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead Graphics Associate Producer for Chicago White Sox games (home and road), overseeing all aspects of pre and in-game graphic production. Includes Spring Training games as well.
  • Generate ideas with third-party vendors such as SportRadar, Sports Info Solutions and others.
  • Collaborate with the studio-based and corporate graphics team on all show elements to ensure proper delivery to production team.
  • Interface with White Sox on promotional items, copy and graphics on a daily and long-term basis.
  • Strong baseball knowledge is a must, particularly with the current White Sox team. Advanced expertise of baseball statistics and the overall history of the White Sox is a plus.
  • Graphics Associate Producer may be asked to contribute as a scorebug operator on White Sox and Bulls shows. May also be asked to work Bulls and Blackhawks shows in a Graphics Associate Producer capacity as well.
  • Responsible for arriving on time during regular crew call, which is typically six hours before event.
  • As assigned, monitor the production process and execution of other live event elements on-site.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Support Live Event Producers and create new content for future shows.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience minimum, preferably in Chicago sports with White Sox expertise.
  • Solid knowledge base of live event and sports production in a truck and control room environment.
  • Strong, personable communication skills to collaborate with both vendors and teams
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to work under tight time restrictions
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with a positive attitude
  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative
  • Teamwork - can work independently and well in a large production group
  • Strong computer skills a basic knowledge of Duet and Chyron are important.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays if event schedule dictates.
  • Bachelor of Arts in communications, video production/media, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
