Summary:

Presented annually, the NAACP Image Awards celebrate the outstanding efforts and performances of people of color in television, motion pictures, recording and literature.


The Committee and Events Manager will provide report to the Vice President of the Hollywood Bureau specific to the 56th NAACP Image Awards. The focus of this role will be to manage the Nominating Committee and event elements for the 56th NAACP Image Awards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as primary point of communication for all Nominating Committee Members;
  • Maintain and manage the number of members per judging panel;
  • Monitor and respond to all correspondence/communication from members;
  • Work closely with Submissions manager on FYC opportunities;
  • Send correspondence to members regarding voting, FYC campaigns, screenings, etc.;
  • Conduct a training session on the Yangaroo committee dashboard and voting process;
  • Staff and manage committee member check-in for on-site screenings in Los Angeles;
  • Update and distribute Nominating Committee Guidelines;
  • Manage the digital online ID system for committee members;
  • Document Nominee Committee Liaison process into an instructional manual;
  • Create, distribute and tally a Survey Form sent to the Nominating Committee Members at the end of the process; and
  • Work with event and production teams on all events surrounding the awards show, tasks to include guests registration, event logistics, guest check-in and management
  • Serve as credentials coordinator for all events
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following professional qualifications, competencies and personal qualities:

  • Prior or similar experience as an assistant/assisting a team or department preferred
  • Event or Production experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook,) with strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Excel required
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Have a working knowledge of the motion picture industry
  • Basic knowledge of award shows and award show season
  • Must be available for the entire (approximately) 37-week period of employment
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, as necessary
