Job Description
Look At The Wall Productions is looking for a talented and experienced Assistant 2D Animator to help complete our 6-minute animated short. The ideal candidate will have experience designing backgrounds for narrative 2-D animation projects, a passion for translating static art into motion, and attention to detail as it relates to developing in-betweens for key animation. This project will involve animating scenes and characters based on a pre-existing animatic storyboard, while ensuring the animation flows smoothly and maintains the original style.
You will be responsible for creating key animation and in-betweens, designing backgrounds, ensuring seamless transitions, and bringing the story to life with engaging visuals. We are seeking someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to match the project’s tone and visual identity.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in animating a 6-minute short film.
- Collaborate with the creative director and director of animation and other project team members to understand the artistic vision, style, and pacing of the short.
- Create fluid and dynamic character animations, incorporating emotions and actions that align with tone through completion of key and in-between frames.
- Work on background elements and other animated assets needed for the short.
- Ensure proper timing and sequencing of animation to ensure coherence with the story.
- Work with director to incorporate sound effects, voiceovers, and music into the animation.
- Revise animations based on feedback and make improvements as needed.
- Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
Compensation:
- $500 one-time stipend upon completion
Requirements:
- Proven experience in 2D animation, with a portfolio or reel showcasing your skills (preferably in comic adaptation or similar work).
- Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony
- Solid understanding of traditional animation principles, such as timing, spacing, weight, and anticipation.
- Ability to work with pre-existing character designs and visual styles while maintaining consistency across animations.
- Strong communication skills to understand feedback and collaborate effectively with the team.
- Attention to detail and a passion for storytelling through animation.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a remote environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and willing to provide proof of citizenship or visa sponsorship upon date of hire
