About the Role & Team
The Environmental Sustainability Line of Business is responsible for setting the strategy and leading the planning and development of environmental projects to achieve the Walt Disney Company’s 2030 environmental goals, which include emissions, water & oceans, waste, materials, and sustainable design. As the Environmental Sustainability, Consulting and Support Manager, you will lead strategies that will maximize the adoption of environmental initiatives across Walt Disney World including expanding recycling infrastructure, plastics reduction, water stewardship, and energy efficiencies.
In this role, you will report to the Environmental Sustainability Director.
What You Will Do
- Develop the strategy to establish a foundational understanding across Walt Disney World of The Walt Disney Company’s 2030 environmental goals, reduce environmental impact and increase operational effectiveness
- Lead environmental initiative adoption across Walt Disney World by driving engagement through storytelling, influence, subject matter expertise, and communication programs
- Negotiate and gain support for environmental priorities across all levels of leadership and across all operating and administrative areas at Walt Disney World
- Lead a team of Program Managers, including recruiting, development, performance evaluations, defining scope of work and priorities
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, collaboration applications and project management tools.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and ability to spend an average 5-20 hours per week doing field work, walking with partners onstage and backstage, performing studies, handling waste in a variety of different weather conditions.
- Ability to leverage strong problem solving, project management, leadership, communication and influencing skills to lead Cast adaptation and develop a high performing team to do the same.
- Experience developing strategies and plans to inform priorities and solutions, as well as evaluate business feasibility and operational readiness through stakeholder assessments, communications, leadership alignment, organization transition, and end-user training
- Strong influence skills to drive commitment for sustainability initiatives and progress towards environmental goals through all levels of the organization
- Ability to streamline strategies with the agility to refocus and reprioritize to ensure progress across activities
- Proven experience leading across all stages of program development and activation, demonstrating strong problem solving skills to ensure changes are driven optimally and remain aligned with organizational goals
- Experience framing up complex issues into simple and easy to understand concepts, influencing senior leaders, and engaging with all levels throughout the organization
- Experience building and leading strong, trust-based, collaborative partnerships across various stakeholder groups
- Minimum one year of professional level work experience

- Professional leadership experience
- Walt Disney World operational experience
- Proficiency in additional language(s)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sustainability, interpersonal communications, business or related field or 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Education
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field
