Position Overview:
TheWrap is in search of a highly skilled General Photo Editor and Producer to join our dynamic team. This role requires a blend of expertise in photography, editorial management, and photoproduction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in photography, with comprehensive knowledge of editorial processes, superior organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, Getty Images, and Canva is essential. Familiarity with WordPress is also required.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and project management abilities, with proven experience in coordinating and producing photoshoots. The role involves curating and retouching photos, managing fast-paced workflows, and being adaptable to occasional weekend work and travel for major events such as TIFF, Sundance, Palm Springs Film Festival, Oscars, Emmys, Comic-Con, and Bravo-Con.
Key Responsibilities:
- Photoshoots: Oversee TheWrap's portrait studios, create call sheets, coordinate photoshoot locations, book talent and photographers, and manage call times.
- Magazines: Produce cover story photoshoots, schedule magazine e-blasts for rollout, and liaise with PR teams.
- Editorial: Select high-quality photos for interdepartmental use, size photos for featured images, upload photos to the media library, and perform SEO tasks.
- Wrap Events: Develop photo galleries for red carpet awards and events, hire event and portrait photographers, send photos for screenings, events, and magazine inserts, and capture behind-the-scenes content for social media.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in photography and editorial management.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, Getty Images, Canva, and WordPress.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and project management abilities.
- Experience in producing and coordinating photoshoots.
- Ability to curate and retouch photos effectively.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle occasional weekend work and travel.
