Jam in the Van, the mobile music discovery platform and live session series based in Los Angeles, is looking for a Music Community Coordinator to host and manage our daily TikTok (and YouTube) community live streams. This is an opportunity to be the on-camera face of a growing music community that champions independent artists and new sounds.

About the Role

You’ll go live five days a week, listening to and reviewing music submissions in real time from artists across the world through our platform partner, Nero. Think of it as being a modern-day radio DJ — someone who can engage an audience, give genuine feedback, and keep the energy high while building community around great music.

Beyond the live sessions, you’ll collaborate with the Jam in the Van team to book artists, clip and distribute live highlights across social media, and update our curated community playlist on Spotify each week.

Responsibilities

Host daily live sessions on TikTok (and occasionally YouTube), reviewing music submissions in real time.
Engage directly with viewers and artists through chat, DMs, and social comments.
Clip standout live moments and repurpose them for short-form social content to promote the stream and grow community engagement across platforms — for example, “I’m live right now listening to your music” videos, or follow-up clips featuring bands discovered on the stream.
Collaborate with the Jam in the Van team to coordinate artist bookings and special appearances.
Update and maintain the Jam in the Van community Spotify playlist weekly.
Stay tapped into music and social trends to keep the stream fresh, relevant, and fun.

What We’re Looking For

A personable, confident on-camera presence with radio DJ energy — witty, engaging, and able to carry a show.
Comfortable managing a live chat audience and reacting in real time.
Strong understanding of music culture and trends — you know what’s buzzing on TikTok, Spotify, and beyond.
Familiarity with TikTok Live, YouTube, and social media content workflows.
Basic editing or clipping experience (for posting highlights and promos).
A self-starter who can collaborate with our small, creative team and build their own network along the way.

Bonus Points

Existing social media following or experience growing a personal brand.
Experience in radio, podcasting, music journalism, or artist relations.
Musician or industry background (not required, but helps you sound legit).
