Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Art Director to lead visual design across AREA15’s brand and marketing platforms. This role combines creative direction with high-level graphic design skills across digital, print, video, and motion graphics. The ideal candidate will bring a strong portfolio, a passion for bold ideas, and the ability to execute projects from concept to completion. You’ll help define the AREA15 look and feel across campaigns, presentations, digital experiences, and in-venue visuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Lead the creation and execution of brand-aligned design systems across digital, print, and environmental platforms.
Lead the concepting, design, and art direction of experiential installations, pop ups, festival activations, retail environments, and attractions.
Design key art for marketing campaigns, experiential events, and branded initiatives.
Create and present mood boards, sketches, and 3D visualizations using design tools.
Develop intuitive and visually impactful UX/UI designs for websites, landing pages, and digital activations.
Create motion graphics and video assets for social media, digital screens, and promotional content.
Produce a variety of digital and print materials, including signage, emails, merchandise graphics, and marketing collateral.
Design professional, high-impact presentations and pitch decks for internal teams and external partners.
Collaborate with Marketing, Events, Retail, and Entertainment teams to ensure cohesive and compelling creative output.
Collaborate with producers, fabricators, and tech team to bring concepts from idea to execution.
Provide guidance and feedback to junior designers and freelance contributors.
Stay ahead of design trends, especially within entertainment, festivals, nightlife, and retail.
Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction.
Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Art Direction or Senior Graphic Design
Minimum 5 years of experience in experiential, environmental, or spatial design, preferably in entertainment, festivals, or retail.
Digital marketing campaign experience is required.
Strong, diverse portfolio with work across branding, digital, motion, and print design
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign)
Experience with Figma, Keynote, PowerPoint, or similar presentation tools
Proven ability to create video graphics and motion design content
Familiarity with interactive and multimedia technologies required.
Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide design teams and cross-functional collaborators
Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.
Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
