Video Editor and Producer

We are looking for an editor/producer for the “This Week in Startups” (TWiST) audio and video podcast.

This is an in-person role in Austin, TX, where you will learn a lot quickly and have ample opportunity to grow professionally.

What You'll Do:

• Help coordinate the live production of “This Week in Startups” every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
• Create and edit entertaining and compelling video content for TikTok, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
• Assist the streaming team with pre-production of original graphics, charts, videos, and visual assets
• Oversee distribution of podcast content across all major platforms
• Provide analytics data and insights to guide the TWiST team
• Go “on the road” and travel with the show as needed
• Other tasks as assigned

Skills Required:

• Expert on GenZ and GenC culture
• TikTok native; excellent at making shorts and memes
• Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills
• Proficient at communications software (i.e., Mailchimp, Google Docs, Zapier, Keynote, Squarespace, Slack, Typeform, WordPress, Outreach.io, Notion, Crunchbase, etc.)
• Relentless positivity and dogged resilience — we're a scrappy team doing world-class work
• Self-starter who proactively anticipates problems and finds solutions
• 0-2 years production experience

Hourly Expectations:

• The show streams live at 12 pm CT multiple times a week
• On show days, the hours are 11 am-7 pm CT

Salary: $60,000

What Candidates Can Expect From the Interview Process:

• We will email the candidates selected for an interview and ask them to record a three-minute video introducing themselves
• Candidates will then interview with a member of our team
• Candidates making it to the second round will interview with a member of our leadership team
• Candidates making it to the final round will interview with an additional member of our leadership team
• Final candidates will be given a project to complete, which will take up to two hours. We pay candidates for this project.
• The goal is to have this role starting as soon as possible.
