Amazon MGM Studios is looking for a Contracts Manager for its Participations team in Culver City, CA. This master problem-solver will shepherd a wide range of entertainment deals through our IT systems to ensure prompt and proper financial reporting to profit participants. Key job responsibilities - Collecting and reviewing inbound agreements to determine whether there are any third party reporting obligations; - Preparing contract abstracts for approval by Amazon MGM Studios attorneys; - Recommending reporting methodology; - Integrating agreements into the company’s automated participation accounting applications and translating legal terms into system options; - Analyzing wills, trusts, and other estate and chain-of-title documents; - Drafting buyout agreements and notices of irrevocable authority; and - Providing legal research and system-troubleshooting support for financial analysts and clerks. A day in the life The Contract Manager interfaces with leaders in business affairs and finance, authoring reports and data profiles that promote a clear and uniform understanding of backend deals across departments and ranks. The Participation department's Contracts Group demystifies the "legalese" of entertainment agreements for our financial colleagues, translates deal points into efficient, automated system codes, and manages all the inevitable changes that occur over the life of each contract. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $146,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. - B.A. or B.S. in a highly analytical major from an accredited college or university;
- J.D. from an accredited law school or B.S. in computer science;
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills;
- Experience with Salesforce;
- Experience with participation/royalty reporting;
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail;
- Strong analytical, communications, organizational, and problem-solving skills; and
- Initiative, ability to multi-task, and commitment to follow through on projects.
