We’re hiring a Sr. Designer / Art Director for a remote opportunity based in Los Angeles, California with one of our clients in the multi-cultural entertainment space. This is a 6-month contract to potential full-time role.

In this role, you'll lead the digital publishing strategy for a major film release, crafting compelling content that supports grassroots screenings, the premiere, and a global digital debut. Your creative and editorial skills will help translate a layered visual and conceptual narrative into digestible, engaging digital formats across social media and web platforms.

Sr. Designer / Art Director Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and lead the design direction for all digital expressions of the film (social media, website, promotional assets, video stills, etc.).

  • Create compelling visuals that distill the film’s aesthetic and philosophical language into accessible and engaging formats.

  • Collaborate closely with the filmmakers and creative team to ensure all visual outputs honor the integrity and vision of the project.

  • Develop visual storytelling formats (e.g., carousels, animated assets, trailers) that enhance narrative engagement and cultural resonance.

  • Guide and maintain the visual consistency and graphic language across all digital and physical touchpoints for the film.

Sr. Designer / Art Director Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of experience in visual design, creative direction, or art direction—preferably in the film, editorial, or cultural media spaces.

  • A strong visual portfolio that demonstrates bold, culturally informed design and a sophisticated eye for composition, typography, and motion.

  • Experience building the creative identity of a brand, artist, or project from scratch across multiple platforms.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Canva (bonus: motion design, light video editing, or web design).

  • Deep cultural fluency, particularly around Black visual culture, experimental cinema, and radical aesthetics.

  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on, from concept to execution.

  • Passionate about experimental Black cinema, community-based storytelling, and future-forward publishing models. (preferred)

  • Confident art director who’s eager to take creative risks, push boundaries, and work across media formats. (preferred)

  • A visual translator—able to distill abstract ideas into stunning, resonant design. (preferred)

  • Enthusiastic about shaping a design-forward publishing identity from the ground up. (preferred)
