The Senior Designer is the nexus between consumer centered business strategy and enabling Digital Products at scale. In this position, you will serve as a hands-on integrator and leader. Your exceptional talents drive insights and strategy that help shape the future of media, community, and connection. Understanding people and their critical needs, you advocate for the best outcomes across business and product teams. You have a proven record of conceptualizing, designing and delivering elegant and intuitive products, experiences, and platforms.
Key Activities
- Support product strategy, Information Architecture, user research, experience requirements gathering from stakeholders.
- Interpret analytics, voice of the customer, market feedback, site rankings and any relevant collateral as needed to improve and conceptualize designs.
- Keep on the pulse of trends in the digital media and utility space, evaluate and evangelize as needed.
- Be the voice of the user in prioritization, new product and feature development.
- Lead discussion and critique of work, solicit requirements from stakeholders, be a key partner in helping deliver on our mission.
- Anticipates customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them.
- Solves complex problems and designs innovative solutions.
- Review work performed by others and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Motivates and inspires other team members.
Digital Acumen
- Demonstrates leadership in effectively aligning business capabilities and customer journeys with solutions that optimize end results in a cost-effective way, while having an eye toward the future and scale
- Understands and applies current digital technology design, build, and operations capabilities and requirements
- Effectively communicates, translates, and actions human-centered design best practices
- Utilizes futuristic thinking (ability to see trends and opportunities and to capitalize on them)
Key Professional Traits and Requirements
- 5+years of hands-on experience with the following:

- Product design (mobile-first, platform services, design systems)
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Figma
- Agile Software Development Experience
- Product Model Experience
- Excellent design capabilities and craft for consumer-grade products and experiences
- User research experience in facilitation and analysis
- Professional and reflects TEGNA values
- Visionary
- Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure
- Experience in working across complex products & enterprise capabilities or a family of multiple products #LI-MS1

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA's 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
