Innovative producer creating high-level video features for Flames Central television show and Liberty Athletics social media. Shape narrative within Liberty Athletics. Operate production equipment and edit in field and studio. Collaborate with Director of Athletics Media and Flames Central team to deliver network-quality content.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce and acquire content.
  • Extensive videography experience.
  • Research and write feature story scripts.
  • Arrange field lighting.
  • Plan, organize, and administratively oversee video production shoots.
  • Edit content to conform to quality standards and time requirements.
  • Responsible for field production kits.
  • Enterprise story leads.
  • Conduct on-camera interviews.
  • Strong understanding of collegiate athletics.
  • Function as part of a broadcast television crew in various roles.
  • Color grading experience preferred.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
  • Work nights and weekends; travel as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Crew on assigned shoots.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

College or technical school degree required.

Minimum five years video production experience.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Ability to work equally well with detail and abstraction.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • Frequently required to travel.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and discern sounds.
  • Regularly required to see and discern colors.
  • Standing, walking, and climbing stairs frequently required.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 50 or fewer pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position are shared between a climate-controlled office setting as well as outdoor video production shoots. Outdoor productions will offer a wide range of temperatures and conditions related to the season and weather. Noise level will range from quiet (office setting) to extremely loud (such as a live event). Work from home may be encouraged or required at times.

Driving Requirements

Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
