Bleecker Street’s Exhibitor Marketing Intern will gain exposure to all aspects of exhibitor marketing and will work with the team responsible for developing and executing theatrical marketing initiatives. This internship is tailored for students with a desire to learn about domestic advertising and in-theater marketing, their function in the studio system, and reaching audiences of multiple demographics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research and survey the in-theatre landscape for potential opportunities and campaigns
  • Develop relationships with independently owned theatres to pitch and execute marketing strategies
  • Manage theatre outreach projects and request or verify placement of in-theatre materials
  • Work with external vendors on materials distribution
  • Oversee the execution of exhibitor marketing proposals
  • Track and research exhibitor digital and social support and collect data across all channels
  • Assist with departmental tracking and reporting documents, as well as various other administrative tasks

Interns will report directly to the Vice President of Exhibitor Marketing, and will be supervised by the Exhibitor Marketing Coordinator.

Qualifications:

Bleecker Street interns must make a 90-day commitment and must be authorized to work in the U.S. They must commit to at least two full days per week (Monday + Wednesday and/or Thursday) and be enrolled at an accredited college or university, working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Interns must be at least 18 years of age and be a standing sophomore or above. Candidates should possess advanced Mac computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office and Internet research, preferably also with experience in Adobe Suite or Avid. Intern Candidates should show initiative and be open to learning. They must have in place a reliable way to commute to and from the office, work well in a professional office environment, and – last but not least – have a passion for movies.

Bleecker’s 10th anniversary in 2024 marked the release of Rumours from iconic Canadian directors Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson, and Galen Johnson, featuring an ensemble cast including Cate Blanchett and Alicia Vikander; epic Odyssey tale The Return starring Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche; as well as Hard Truths, the BAFTA, Gotham and Spirit Award-nominated film from legendary auteur Mike Leigh and starring Marianne Jean-Baptiste, who won the New York, Los Angeles and National critics trifecta for her performance in the film.
