Picture Shop VFX is looking for a Flame Artist to join our talented Team in New York. This position starts as a contract position with the hope of a Full Time Hire. This is a hybrid position, so the applicant must be able to work out of our Picture Shop New York office and be a New York Resident.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with Directors, Producers, and Clients, to help find their creative vision and ensure that the final product meets their expectations, schedule, and budget.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in a highly efficient manner. Respecting Budget, schedule, while assuring quality control.
• Ability to Lead supervised sessions with confidence, creating a safe and thriving environment for clients from all walks of life. Understanding that your attitude and commitment are what creates trust and lasting relationships.
• Works closely with Picture Shop Colorists, Editors, Production and Sales, for technical and creative problem solving.
• Provides quick turnarounds, ability to pivot, and has the attitude that no project is “too small”.
• A Team Leader, who shares methodologies, provides feedback, and mentors their team.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years Flame Experience
• Solid working knowledge of Autodesk Flame
• Strong creative and design skills
• Experience in bidding, using different methodologies based on budget, schedule, and show type
• Personable with clients, team members, and producers to solve complex compositing issues
• Problem-solving both creative and technical, with strong organizational skills
• General knowledge of cameras, lenses, codecs, frame rates
• Solid understanding of Production & Post Production process for Features, Streaming, and Broadcast

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Flow/Shotgrid Project Tracking
• Experience of Nuke, After Effects, Photoshop, Hiero are a plus
