Job Description:
Reporting directly to the founder and partner, Aaron Fishman, the Director of Development will oversee the day-to-day development of non-fiction projects on the APG Pictures slate.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee non-fiction development projects in varying stages (documentary, LIVE, reality, and podcasts) from early development to pitch.
- Field and source pitches from external producers, journalists, publications, third-party production companies, and talent for consideration.
- Organize and track development internally.
- Write and design pitch materials (decks and sizzles) for projects in development.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Intermediate or expert knowledge of Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
- Must be a skilled writer with proven experience in writing unscripted pitch materials
- Knowledge of and passion for the unscripted/documentary landscape and players
- Strong communication, self-starter, leadership, growth mindset, and organizational skills are essential
- Relevant relationships within the industry (i.e. agents, networks, other production companies, talent, etc.)
- Prior experience at a network, production company, or agency a plus.
Job Location:
Position is fully remote that requires a Los Angeles-based employee to attend occasional in-person meetings.
Compensation:
Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. Bonus structure available based on successful series sales.
