Position Summary
The Country Music Association (CMA) is hiring a Content Production Manager to join the Marketing department. This position reports to the Director, Content Production, and is responsible for managing event photography, video coverage, promotional photo shoots and more for CMA events and initiatives, including CMA Fest, CMA Awards and CMA Country Christmas. This individual is highly organized, able to juggle multiple projects, and is skilled in all aspects of production of photo and video content.
*Due to CMA Fest, review of applications will be delayed and is expected to start around June 16th.
This position is full time, based at CMA HQ in Nashville, TN and requires occasional weekend and late-night work, as well as some travel.
Budgeted salary range: $65,000-75,000

This position will be responsible for:
- Booking photographers for large and small events based on internal and external requests and needs for coverage
- Scheduling and advancing with photographers, providing them with call times, shot lists, and other pertinent information
- Performing and managing photo editing, making photo selects, retouching, overseeing photo editing team, and liaising with Media Manager to ensure proper flow of assets into data asset management (DAM) system and archive
- Working with talent manager and ABC Television to manage promotional photo shoots for CMA’s television properties, including coordinating and disseminating information with shoot details to all parties
- Managing photography budget for multiple departments and events and forecasting future needs to ensure budget compliance
- Serving as on-staff photographer and videographer
- Assisting with video content shoots, including hiring outside vendors or scheduling in-house videographer for coverage, set construction, teleprompter operation, and more general production assistant duties
- Editing video as needed, from simple clipping to more involved editing with multiple video sources, music, and graphics
Essential Functions
- Lead the CMA Photography Team, managing photo coverage for major events, including CMA Fest, CMA Awards, CMA Country Christmas, CMA Touring Awards, Triple Play Awards, and Music Teachers of Excellence
- Hire and onboard event photographers, photo editors, and card runners. Negotiate rates, create and manage schedules, compile shot list requests, and provide on-site supervision to ensure high-quality event coverage
- Coordinate with the Business Affairs team to draft work SOWs and master agreements for new and recurring photo and video vendors
- Process vendor invoices for photography and videography services, updating budget records to accurately reflect actual expenses after each event
- Conduct final quality control review of event photos, ensuring they meet brand standards before publishing to the CMA Brand Portal
- Collaborate with the Public Relations team to manage artist approvals and requests for photo retouching, ensuring alignment with brand and artist standards
- Develop and manage the budget for all photography-related expenses for major CMA events and year-round content needs
- Photograph CMA events and behind-the-scenes moments from photo and video shoots for CMA press releases and marketing materials
- Capture video content for artist visits, in-office performances, general Country Music industry events and behind-the-scenes moments at promotional photo and video shoots
- Produce interview-based video shoots, including scheduling, writing interview questions and conducting on-camera interviews with artists and other industry professionals
- Maintain and catalog video, photo, lighting, and audio equipment to ensure readiness for all production needs
- Manage and coordinate CMA staff headshots, scheduling sessions during each fiscal year to ensure all new staff members have updated photos that align with CMA’s branding
- Upload approved event and promotional photos to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, ensuring all images are properly categorized and organized for easy access. Apply accurate metadata, including captions, keywords, photographer credits, and usage rights, to maintain consistency and improve searchability
- Develop short-form video content and motion graphics for CMA social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook
- Submit and track departmental invoices for all content related expenses
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography, Film/Video, Communications, Music Business or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing photo and video production, preferably as part of an in-house content team
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Bridge, and Lightroom), mobile-based video editing apps (like CapCut or Adobe Express), Photo Mechanic, Excel, experience working in DAM and MAM systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams
- Calm under pressure and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Knowledge of or interest in Country Music is a plus
