Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it! We are seeking a strategic and creatively minded Managing Editor, Platform Programming to join the global Apple Music Editorial team. The successful applicant will have a proven history of managing editorial teams and/or platforms, ideally with experience across multiple mediums. There should be a high level of confidence with content curation and audience behavior, and a track record of optimizing a platform based on a solid understanding of analytics and trends. The successful applicant will have an exacting eye for detail and be able to apply it to all Editorial spaces, overseeing a high-quality and vibrant environment for our users. They must also be able to define and represent the Editorial perspective fluently and proactively on cross-functional projects, including new product launches and global content initiatives. They need to posses a very natural aptitude for communication and organization.
Key Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the digital content space and the users who inhabit it
- Proven experience in running editorial platforms with an unwavering eye for excellence
- Deep experience with digital content strategy and planning campaigns from concept to launch
- Strategic agility in executing great content and concepts, with an emphasis on connecting to an audience
- Exceptional talent for building engaging and vibrant editorial spaces across complex ecosystems, including both curated and personalized experiences
- Strong editorial judgment and confident understanding of the principles and tenets of content curation and management
- Ability to juggle longer-term projects with the fast-moving demands of a highly dynamic media product
- Nuanced understanding of culture, in particular a multi-faceted appreciation of music and its genres, as well as a deep connection to the arts, tech, & media landscapes
- High level of comfort with engagement metrics and analytics generally, and an ability to apply learnings
- Collaborative spirit, exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to bring ideas and plans together; reconciling different creative points-of-view as well as ensuring that each stakeholder is invested
- Experience working with creative teams
- Proven track record of idea-generation and concept-creation
- The position requires a self-motivated individual; extraordinarily driven, highly adaptable with outstanding communication and organizational skills, who is also able to work under pressure
- Strong understanding of, and empathy with, the Apple brand and products

Description
The Managing Editor oversees all the ways content is brought to life on Editorial spaces within Apple Music. The person in this role will be a key Editorial voice on large-scale, cross-functional content initiatives, helping to manage and maximize execution. They will be a key partner to broader Apple Music teams such as Design and Product, able to fluently express the ways in which content and editorial plugs into cross-functional projects such as product enhancements and new features. They will also oversee some of the more day-to-day elements of maintaining a vibrant and engaging platform, such as content curation and programming. The Managing Editor establishes standards and best-practices for Apple Music’s large network of global teams, providing a central touchpoint for international Music editors. The person in this role will drive strategies that maximize the ways content is featured throughout our platform, enhancing the user experience and optimizing engagement. They will apply a judicious editorial eye to content across Apple Music, always maintaining an exceptional level of quality at all times.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $152,000 and $285,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
