We are Looking for:
As Associate Director, you are a committed, responsible and a team player. You are able to deliver and perform in a fast-paced production environment and are accustomed to multi-tasking, working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. You are able to support the Technical Director with new ideas and bring simple solutions to complex challenges. This is a fully on-site position on a temporary part-time/ad-hoc basis.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists the TD by timing elements, cueing video, coordinating feeds and assigning tasks to the crew as needed.
  • Maintains clear communication with remote shots, providing alerts and cues for the TD and MCR.
  • Acts as liaison between TD, MCR and remote/in-studio crew.
  • Assists in communicating out traffic changes, graphics requests, and any needed special FX on the switcher.
  • Composes shot compositions with the studio operators.
  • Works with shading to quality control all the cameras and remotes to make sure they are painted optimally.
  • Escalates any technical issues to engineering, acting as liaison between engineering and production departments.
  • Helps with pre-production elements, coordinating video and graphics within the production.
  • Writes a daily report recapping the day’s success and failures.
  • Technically produce broadcasts using a range of manual and automated processes.
  • Provide direction to talent and other production crew members in support of TD.
  • Responsible for the technical quality of all productions.
  • Be extremely disciplined with performing tests and rehearsals to ensure optimal performance of equipment and minimize on-air errors.
  • Engage with the production team to improve the quality of all shows.
  • Support for broadcast and digital platforms.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience as Associate Director for live television, news, or special programs
  • Knowledge of robotic camera control system operation.
  • Knowledge of control room production.
  • Expertise with control room switchers required; experience with Grass Valley gear is a plus
  • Experience with server playback and ingest operations
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Self-motivation and desire to learn emerging technologies
