KDRV-TV has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Manager

KDRV-TV, the #1 station in Medford, Oregon has an immediate opening for a web and social network-savvy manager to lead its digital content initiatives. We are seeking a champion content creator to help shape and execute strategies for our newsroom and all its digital media efforts, encompassing web, mobile, and social platforms.

JOB SUMMARY

• Write, edit and publish breaking news, daily news, sports, weather and feature stories for the station’s website, mobile and social media pages.
• Identify and gather information on potential news stories seen on social media and other news websites.
• Maintain a digital-centric culture where all departments at the station are focused on enhancing our presence across all digital platforms.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on selecting, preparing, and publishing content to our digital platforms
• Work closely with other news managers to create and administer daily content workflows between on-air and online news, sports, and weather.
• Monitor interactive products such as polls and message boards.
• Other duties as assigned by the Newsroom or Station Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on journalism, communications or related field of study.
• At least one year of experience working for a television news station, a daily newspaper, or in an online news environment is preferred.
• Great interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and teach members of the news team to produce and execute accurate, informative and creative content.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure.
• Excellent computer and internet skills are essential.
• Strong verbal, writing, and editing skills.
• Great news judgment along with a solid understanding of media laws and ethics.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• A pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.
• Good driving record. Must possess or be able to obtain an Oregon driver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
