Job Description
The Senior Art Director, Brand Design will create best-in-class storytelling and design solutions in partnership with Design leadership and Brand Marketing. This role is focused on elevating the consumer journey throughout the digital landscape: on our website, through digital media, branded content creation, activation in our stores, and in our expanding social media channels. The position will help us deliver Global seasonal campaigns that inspire both internal teams and external consumers while highlighting what makes our product assortment extraordinary.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Creates industry leading storytelling and design solutions in partnership with Design Leadership and Brand Marketing, with a digital-first approach
- Designs and oversees high-volume assets for brand, product, retail, wholesale and social channels
- Leads and mentors other Designers, collaborates with Creative Operations, Copy team, Photo Art Director(s), Brand Design Director and Creative Director to develop Global seasonal campaigns for primarily digital and select print projects, including the Cole Haan website, Emails, Social and Paid Media, digital displays and signage in stores
- Reviews and provides feedback for assets developed by internal designers and external teams
- Partners with Marketing, Merchandising, Product and Buying teams to deliver effective solutions to briefs while maintaining the visual and verbal connection vital for compelling storytelling
- Researches creative trends in both competitive and parallel markets and applies that knowledge to the development of forward-thinking design solutions for the Cole Haan brand
- Maintains cohesive brand and typographic consistency across materials and brand channels
- Develops brand identities for collaborations and sub-brands: researches best-in-class examples; researches inspirational images and products; photo-comp usage examples; and compile final presentation boards
- Vested interest in design/fashion/editorial/retail/competitor trends
- Anticipates and resolves creative challenges independently when needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications Design, Graphic Design or related major
- 7+ years previous experience within a design studio, creative agency or in-house creative team
- Previous experience with fashion/lifestyle/retail/beauty brands preferred
- Mastery of appropriate tools & technology; expert or advanced skills with Adobe Creative Cloud (including, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Figma, Miro and other -standard industry software
- Experience with motion design/After Effects preferred
- Outstanding typographic and graphic design skills, with experience in cross-channel brand identity and immersive digital-first experiences
- Must be highly motivated and independent; an enthusiastic team player with a proven ability to provide fresh, conceptually driven solutions
- Must have the communication skills necessary to collaborate productively in large interdisciplinary teams that include Creative, Marketing, Merchandising, Product Design, and Visual Merchandising
- Strong ability to multi-task, work under tight deadlines, and manage time efficiently to meet the needs of our partners and consumers
- Immaculate attention to detail
Base Salary/Hourly Range: From $160,000 to $185,000 annually*
Bonus Eligibility: Yes, eligible for annual target bonus based on company and individual performance
