Job Description
WGN-TV is searching for a creative, informed and innovative producer for the WGN Morning News. The right candidate may also serve as an Associate Producer three days during the week.
Duties/Responsibilities:
80K to 90K Annualized - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Produce strong newscasts in a growing time period
- Work closely with other producers, web team, field crews and Assignment Desk to maximize daily resources and appropriately reflect the news of the day
- Write captivating news teases and news stories, review writers’ scripts
- Work as an Associate Producer during the week, serving in a variety of roles as needed: booking for the weekend or weekday morning shows, field producing, or fill-in line producing
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Desktop editing skills preferred
- Minimum two years’ experience in news operations
- Leadership ability, positive attitude and creativity a must
