The Job

Warner Bros. Worldwide Studio Tours and Retail division is home to an expanding portfolio of Warner Bros. Discovery-owned visitor attractions and experiential retail stores around the world, each created with visitor engagement and exceptional customer service at their heart. The division includes Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter and Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter which opened in 2023. The division also supports Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, a guided tour showcasing the production secrets behind the best loved films and television shows in the world of entertainment at the studios where they were made.

Warner Bros. Worldwide Studio Tours and Retail specializes in experiential retail and is home to The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 ¾, Harry Potter New York – the iconic flagship store as well as offering an online experience at Harrypottershop.com.

This position will support the Harry Potter Chicago store by maximizing customer and fan engagement in an awe inspiring, best in class retail environment. This role primarily oversees the visual merchandise segments of the business while inspiring and leading a team of brand specialists to deliver an ever-evolving guest experience for fans. Additionally, you will be expected to connect with our guests by providing excellent service and addressing their needs to enhance their shopping experience.

The Daily

Assists the store manager with interviewing, on-boarding, and training employees.
Evaluates, coaches, and counsels store employees to meet all expectations.
Conducts store staff meetings and attends all meetings as needed.
Creates staffing and zoning plan for all associates within the store.
Serve as lead point of contact for the store for all employees.
Conducts yearly reviews and quarterly performance evaluations.
Works closely with the store manager in strategies, core focuses and procedures.
Performance manages and utilizes corrective actions if needed.
Develops store succession plans with the support of the store manager and peers.
Conducts discovery conversations to solve complex employee related problems.
Opens and/or closes the store, assigns cash drawers, and completes financials, audits, sales reports, and other relevant paperwork as needed.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment through coaching and education to ensure store safety guidelines.
Ensures that all team members develop an understanding of product knowledge and product standards.
Ability to create visually appealing displays that enhance the customer shopping experience.
Ensures that visual displays are to brand and safety standards.
Escalates and places facility and technical tickets for maintenance and repair.
Oversees and drives profitability in specific areas of responsibility within the store.
Is responsible for maintaining store shrink to acceptable parameters.
Adheres to company policies for all cash handling processes.
Fosters operational strategies to achieve store KPI’s.
Utilizes customer insight to improve the customer experience strategy.
Oversees proper inventory levels within the store.
Adheres to strategy plans to increase profitability within segments of the store.
Promotes a positive and seamless guest experience.
Strategizes with management team on how to handle and resolve all guest-related issues, ensures service standards, levels, and maximizes the customer experience.
Fosters the stores sales strategy plan on customer engagement.
Works with store leadership to promote customer retention plans.
Works aside all internal partners on product placement through seasonal drivetimes and trends.

The Essentials

Minimum 4 years’ experience in premium or high-volume retail management experience
Good understanding of business and financial concepts and demonstrated ability to lead the team to drive results

Established time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a positive attitude
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Must have open availability for a flexible work schedule that meets the needs of the business, including overnights, evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $35,360 - $25,688.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
