Job Description

We’re a growing production company working on a host-driven video podcast featuring in-depth conversations with artists, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders. Our content lives primarily on YouTube, with a strong emphasis on repurposing for short-form platforms like TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

We’re looking for a versatile, detail-oriented Video Editor who can handle multi-cam edits, elevate audio quality, and bring editorial creativity to both long-form episodes and social-first clips. You’re someone who not only edits with technical precision but also thinks like a storyteller—able to shape pacing, emotion, and tone while enhancing the viewer experience with thoughtful b-roll, archival, and motion elements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit long-form, multi-camera podcast episodes for YouTube with a focus on pacing, clean audio, and visual continuity
  • Cut short-form vertical content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) from longer conversations that feel native to each platform
  • Perform basic audio cleanup, EQ, and leveling to ensure episodes meet professional sound standards
  • Integrate motion graphics, titles, and lower thirds that align with brand aesthetics
  • Source and suggest archival, stock, or original b-roll to visually enhance storytelling
  • Maintain organized project files, timelines, and asset management across multiple concurrent projects
  • Implement feedback from producers and hosts with professionalism and efficiency
  • Stay current with video and social media trends to inform creative decisions

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of professional editing experience (broadcast, podcast, branded content, or similar)
  • Experience with multi-cam workflows, proxies, audio sync, and basic color correction
  • Solid understanding of audio post-production (dialogue cleanup, noise reduction, sound design basics)
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage deadlines across multiple deliverables
  • Strong editorial instincts—you know what to cut, what to keep, and how to find the emotional core of a moment
  • Familiarity with repurposing long-form content for short-form platforms
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience editing podcasts, interviews, or talk-show-style formats
  • Motion graphics (After Effects, Motion, or similar)
  • Knowledge of AI-based tools for transcription, audio cleanup, or creative ideation
  • Background in creative development or story producing
  • LA-based and available for occasional on-set editing or shooting (not required)

What We Offer:

  • Freelance-to-hire opportunity with room for long-term collaboration
  • Flexible hours and remote-friendly setup
  • The chance to work on meaningful content with a purpose-driven creator
  • A collaborative environment where your creative input is encouraged and valued

To apply, please submit:

  • A link to your reel or relevant samples of both long-form and short-form work
  • A brief note about your experience and approach to storytelling through editing
  • A sample project or moment you're particularly proud of—and why

We’re looking for someone who brings both creative insight and technical excellence. If that’s you, we’d love to connect.
