TITLE: Seasonal Junior Graphic Designer
DEPARTMENT: Marketing & Creative Services
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Creative Digital Design
STATUS: Seasonal; Non-Exempt

Your role as a Seasonal Junior Graphic Designer:
You will assist in the creation of both digital and print work. This includes social media content, logos, digital banners, signage etc., using collaboration skills in order to create strong visual content to represent the Padres as an elite organization.

Work with the Creative Services team to ensure on-brand work
Create original and innovative work to help push the brand forward
Manage flow of work for the creative services team that is submitted using the web-based request tool, ‘ClickUp’
Partner for giving best recommendations on design and production of projects
Assists in maintaining and establishing design department policies
Stays current industry standards and trends
Creation of projects that include but are not limited to: ballpark and outdoor signage, publications, packaging, merchandise, logos, web banners, email campaigns, social content, sales information assets
Works well with the Marketing team members to meet departmental and Club goals
Collaborates with other departments within the organization to strategically create a consistent visual identity for the Club. This includes collaboration with the Game Presentation & Production departments on branding for commercials, in-park and web videos
Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times
Other duties as assigned
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
Must have expert knowledge with the following software: Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience working in a professional design department; agency experience a plus but not necessary
Strong knowledge of working with vendors and printers in releasing artwork for print
Fundamentals of page-layout, typography and design principles
Experience designing for action sports or entertainment industry a plus but not necessary
Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
You will be required to meet the following:
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent, preferably in Graphic Design or similar discipline
Minimum 3+ years’ previous experience in Graphic Design
Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, Padres home/road games, holidays and extended hours as needed
Able to travel as needed
Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Salary and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $22.00. Part time, non-union employees are subject to the San Diego Living Wage Ordinance and rates will increase accordingly.
