Assistant Director of Creative Services, Videos

Location: New Orleans, LA


Summary
The Assistant Director films, edits, and produces video content for Tulane Athletics on social media/in-venue video boards while also managing studio video shoots and video archives. This position assists the Director of Creative Services in implementing communications and marketing strategies through the production of video content for assigned sports. The Assistant Director supports Tulane athletics programs and external departments to promote and enhance, through digital and social media, the image of the Tulane University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position is highly organized, detail-oriented, a good communicator, and possess the ability to handle numerous assignments in a timely manner with the flexibility to adjust to unscheduled developments involving immediate attention.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A broad understanding of creative video trends and technologies.
  • Working knowledge and real-world experience in planning, managing and executing video and digital media initiatives.
  • Solid working knowledge of industry standard software and applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.
  • Efficient audio and video editing skills required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes, media and vendors
  • Strong organizational, management and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • Strong writing skills
  • Availability to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
  • Possible travel with sport teams for select away contests
  • Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American conference rules and regulations

NCAA Related:

Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 year of experience in the marketing, video, or public relations
  • Professional experience in video shooting and editing
OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 7 years of experience in the marketing, video, or public relations
  • Professional experience in video shooting and editing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to learn new technologies, techniques and solve problems quickly and completely.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Strong sense of professionalism & judgment in response to issues in the public social media space.
  • Experience at the NCAA DI level.

This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 23.
