Morning Show Producer – WUTQ 100.7 Talk of the Town
Location: Roser Communications Network, Inc. – Utica, NY
RCN is seeking a dynamic and driven Producer for WUTQ 100.7 Talk of the Town, our signature morning talk show. This position plays a key role in shaping compelling content, securing timely and relevant guests, managing show logistics, and engaging with our audience.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, engaging, and influential morning program that connects with the Central New York community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce daily content for the morning show that is timely, engaging, and relevant to our audience.
- Co-host the live morning show on an as needed basis when main hosts are out of office, contributing to lively discussion, interviews, and breaking news coverage as needed.
- Research and secure guests for interviews and segments, ensuring a diverse and interesting lineup that reflects current events and community interests.
- Manage daily show schedule, coordinating all guest appearances, content flow, and segment timing.
- Write scripts, show promos, and segment transitions with a strong grasp of storytelling and audience engagement.
- Operate technical broadcast equipment during the live show, ensuring a seamless listening experience.
- Monitor and engage with audience feedback via social media, fostering listener interaction and show loyalty.
- Stay informed about local news, events, and politics to generate content ideas and maintain show relevance.
- Exercise sound editorial judgment and maintain high content standards.
- Be flexible and dependable in a deadline-driven environment; some early mornings, extended hours, or breaking news shifts may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in radio production, broadcast journalism, or a similar content creation role.
- Strong on-air presence with clear, engaging communication skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with live studio operations and broadcast equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of and passion for local news and community engagement.
- Ability to multitask under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Pay:
Full time position
$45,000 - $50,000
