Job Summary/Description:

Atlanta News First (WANF/ WPCH) is looking for an energetic and engaging anchor to join our morning news team. This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced journalist who loves breaking news, connects with the community, and tells compelling stories from diverse perspectives.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Co-anchor 5 am and 8 am newscasts M-F
  • Fill in on other newscasts as needed
  • Anchor digital segments as assigned
  • Create compelling content for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms daily
  • Generate enterprise story ideas
  • Turn 2-3 enterprise stories each week
  • Report live at Noon as needed
  • Be a leader in the newsroom by actively engaging in the editorial process
  • Develop a strong network of sources in the community

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as an on-air broadcast journalist
  • Major market experience preferred
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Must provide a link to recent examples of reporting and anchoring
